Trip to Fayoum visiting the lakeland Qarun Palace and Wadi el Rayan then having lunch at local restaurant.
Pick up from the hotel in Cairo. Transfer by private vehicle to the Fayum which is 95 km. Arrival at the Fayum, transfer to visit Karanis, where the ruins of the old city are. This city contains a number of monuments dating back to the Roman, Coptic and Newly Islamic times. Enjoy a visit to Qarun Lake where you can see different types of birds. This lake is considered the oldest natural lake in the whole world and the third long lake in Egypt. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then transfer to Qaroun Palace, it is 55 km northwest of Fayum. It houses well-preserved temples. Directed to Wadi el Rayan, designated as a protected area in 1989. Wadi el Rayan is a natural area located in the western desert and 42 m below sea level. It also has two lakes connected by the only waterfalls in Egypt, formed in the year 1970 by an overflow of water drainage from the fields in the Fayum. Return to Cairo.
